Thought I would share a few pictures of our outside decorations. I didn't go huge this year because Halloween is a Sunday so I'm not anticipating a lot of trick or treaters plus we always go over to my sister and parent's house for the annual Halloween shin-dig. I let them go huge with the decorations instead. My largest investment, because I begged my hubby to let me get it was this:
This is a 9ft tall, from ground to tip of tail, black cat inflatable located in our front yard. This cat is sooooo awesome! Not only is it huge but it lights up from within and its eyes glow really brightly but the BEST part is, its head rotates from left to right. Meow!
Here's my "scarecrow". LOL. Just put one of the hubby's old shirts over the light pole and over an old broomstick, with a mask over the light for a face. Here's a close-up of the face:
Xavier loves it. He walks over to it and grabs the edge of the shirt, points at it and goes "oooooooooooooo!"
Here's a pic of the front of our house. You can kind of see our mini graveyard in the rock bed:
And here's my favorite sign in our yard:
This was one of the very first "big" Halloween decorations Tony and I purchased about a year before we were married. I love it with all the bloody tattered fabric hanging off of it!

Halloween Outside Decorations
Halloween-Themed Party
Hi everyone! Sorry it's taken so long for me to update this but with work and life getting in the way of everything....well, you know! On October 15th, we had a spooky-themed party. Basically invited some people over, enjoyed some spooky themed foods, and played games. It was a great time! Definitely helped to get some stress out from the week of work. I thought I'd share a few pictures of my decorations and a couple snippets from the party. :)
Our butler for the night! This is a cardboard stand-up that we ordered from OrientalTrading.com! It's so cool...we actually had put the treat bags for our guests on its tray but you can poke out these little circles and place plastic shot glasses in it! I highly recommend Orientaltrading.com for ANY party or holiday. They have a million things to choose from plus they're ridiculously cheap!
Here is my spooky table set-up. I have white "funkins" that I purchased from Jo-Ann fabrics. The "tablecloths" is just white cheesecloth with a black tulle runner, both purchased at Wal-Mart. The black birds I purchased at the Dollar Tree. Bloody tapered candles are Pier-1. The headstones, white jarred candles, the tall candle holders and skull were all purchased, very cheaply!, from Old Time Pottery. I love my black an white table set-up because it looked spooky enough plus classy with the simple black and white colors.
Here's a better look at my blackbird and white funkin. :)
These "pictures" are so cool! I got them at Target...I think you can see why they're awesome...
Before.......
After...when you walk to the side. :)
Before...... After!
This is my "creepy chandelier"! It's actually a white ceiling fan in our dining area. We got the idea from The Ladie's Home Journal Halloween magazine. Basically it's strips of white lace cut jaggedly and hung from the blades of the fan. I added another black bird for effect.
So that pretty much sums up the major things I did inside of our house. We added some fun little decorations we got at the Dollar Tree and taped them up in the kitchen and living area, over mirrors, etc...I also painted some signs and hung them up in the kitchen, so they hung over the areas where food was being served. We have super tiny house so I thought it was best to serve the food buffet style in the kitchen itself, using the counter space as tables. We filled the double sink with ice and placed beer, soda and wine in there to chill. Kept it cold all night and no mess to clean up from icy water! Here are a few pictures of miscellaneous things we did including our awesome donuts!
Homemade apple cider flavored donuts
Signs I painted to hang above the food.
Another blackbird watching from the range fan. ;)

First Post!
Hi Everyone!
This is my first try at blogging...let's see how it goes. Basically, upon the suggestion of an equally crafty mommy, I've decided to document some of the things that I do with my family and now that we're coming up on the holiday season, now is the time to put my crafts on display for the world to see? Or something like that. We'll just see how this goes.....
